The following steps are followed in commissioning us.
| | DESIGN CONCEPT Scott Harrower Mosaic Design will present a preliminary design concept for the mosaic in the form of a scaled artist's impression, design rationale and storyboards of selected materials. This enables our clients to imagine the mosaic in-situ, allowing for reflection and collaborative discussion before the final design is presented. |

| FABRICATION Our prefered system of fabrication is the In-direct technique, allowing the mosaic to be made off- site in our studio. A full scale coloured cartoon of the mosaic design is prepared in reverse and the Andamento(directional flow) and other elements are indicated. A strong temporary paste is used to adhere the tesserae (cut pieces) to the cartoon. Where possible our clients may visit the studio to view the mosaic during fabrication, ( otherwise progessive photographs are electronically provided.) The mosaic is completed in reverse, coded and cut into moveable sections ready for transportation to site. Fabrication progression slideshow |

| INSTALLATION On-site, a bed of adhesive is trowelled onto the substrate. The mosaic is is turned over and embedded into the adhesive. The paper cartoon is exposed and washed from the surface ready for the mosaic to be grouted. All of Scott Harrower Mosaic Design’s products are fabricated for ease of installation by a suitably qualified tradesperson. Our experienced team can meet all the installation requirements of your mosaic or will supervise the the installation of the mosaic by your preferred building contractor.
